Mazen Aloush, Syria's Director of Relations at the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports, told North Press on Thursday that the Port of Latakia has witnessed unprecedented activity in recent months, with several ships arriving carrying a variety of food, construction, and commercial goods.
Aloush added that "this reflects the stability of the work environment and the high readiness of operational and service facilities, confirming that the Port of Latakia is gradually regaining its position as a major logistics hub on the eastern Mediterranean coast."
He explained that the General Authority for Land and Sea Ports "continuously monitors the plan to develop Syria’s port infrastructure, working to expand the port’s capacity and improve digital operation systems and logistics services, which contributes to attracting more shipping lines and global companies operating in maritime transport."
